The Significance of the Church Vote

A workshop coordinated by the Leadership Institute of Hawaii

As leaders, we are called to be voices of truth and righteousness in our communities. The upcoming election presents a critical opportunity for the Church to stand firm in these values by encouraging our congregations to exercise their right to vote. And we are blessed this year to have faithful men and women who God has called to stand up and run for office to represent the Church at the State Capitol.

The workshop will cover essential topics, including:

• The history and impact of the church vote in Hawaii shared by Hawaii Family Forum
• Pastor Diamond Garcia, elected to the State House will share current and upcoming legislation that impacts our faith
• Practical strategies for mobilizing your congregation to vote (including a look at the HFF Voter Guide and HFF Vote Scorecard)

Your leadership and influence are vital in ensuring that the voices of our faith community are heard in this election. By attending this workshop, you will be equipped with the resources and tools needed to inspire and guide your congregation in making informed decisions in the November General Election.

Workshop highlights:

• Hawaii Family Forum leaders will reflect on the history of the church’s impact in Hawaii and discuss the responsibility of leaders within the church community to engage in broader societal issues that impact their congregants.
  
• Current elected officials will cover past, current and future legislation that  impact the Church in Hawaii, and the challenge of standing alone for Christian values at the Legislature; and,
  
• Leadership Institute Hawaii will share practical and ethical ways to galvanize and activate the Church to vote in 2024.
