Hawaii Already Has Problem Gambling

“Our families are already struggling. We’d support anything that would help them, but we don’t want to throw our drowning people an anchor instead of a life raft.”
Eva Andrade, President, Hawaii Family Forum

Civil Beat, hawaii already has problem gambling, march 8, 2022

In 2022, Hawaii’s Senate deferred a bill that would have created a feasibility study for legalized gambling. They rightly, we believe, shelved the discussion because opponents argued that Hawaii should not be in the crosshairs of a social experiment on the promise of an economic surplus.

Stay tuned because this issue will back every year until Hawaii passes some form of legalized gambling.

We at Hawaii Family Forum, will continue to oppose this effort. Hawaii remains only one of two states (Utah is the other) with no form of legalized gambling. Let’s keep Hawaii, Hawaii.
