Quick summary:

Today’s proposed rule changes to Title IX add “sexual orientation and gender identity” to the definition of “sex” in the statute—including within the definition of “sexual harassment” and “discrimination on the basis of sex”—and increase the requirements Title IX schools have to accommodate “pregnancy and pregnancy-related conditions” which include abortions.

Notably and intentionally missing are girls’ sports and sex-separated living facilities. The Department explicitly did NOT include those areas in the proposed rule.
