Protecting Minors from Sexual Exploitation

In 2001, Hawaii’s age of consent was the lowest in the nation. Hawaii Family Forum led the way to pass a bill, raising the age of consent from 14 to 16. This important piece of legislation helps protect children from sexual exploitation and abuse brought Hawaii into conformance with the majority of states regarding the age adults may legally have sex with minors.

Executive Director, Kelly Rosati, was named that year as one of the State’s most influential people.
