Want to Read Both Platforms?

It is an important part of the education process, when we vote, to take a look at the platforms of the candidates you are wishing to support.  Keep in mind that some studies have shown that candidates will follow the party platform at least 80% of the time. (Vox Policy and Politics, 2016).  When an issue is important to you and you have no voting record for a candidate, then you can get a “general” idea of how the candidate will vote on any particular issue.  There are always exceptions to the rule so the most important thing for you to do is to make direct contact with your candidate and ask the tough questions.  We should not leave this up to the media.  Most candidates have websites and Facebook pages where you can not only see what their positions are, but you can also view their posting so you can determine character, morality and even personality.  All of the traits play a role when someone takes that oath of office.
